Beach Road Apartments
RECLAD
This building, constructed in the 1990s, comprises two duplex apartments.
These three-storey apartments were originally clad in an EIFS plaster system, with a complex membrane roof and numerous balconies. The building had major weathertightness issues.
To resolve the moisture issues, we added a new pitched metal roof with a simpler form and rebuilt the balconies.
We replaced most of the plaster with bevel-back timber weatherboards. Aluminium cladding was used for feature walls and along the boundary walls where fire ratings were required. We also added new windows and balustrades.
